About the McIntosh MC152 Power Amplifier
The MC152 is McIntosh’s most compact current solid-state stereo power amplifier, built into an iconic 6-inch-tall chassis without compromising the engineering standards McIntosh is famous for. It’s the ideal choice for a modest-footprint two-channel system, a compact rack, or a home theater application where a larger amplifier simply won’t fit — without giving up McIntosh’s signature sound and legendary build quality.
Inside, the MC152 uses McIntosh’s proprietary Autoformer output stage to precisely match the amplifier to any loudspeaker load, along with Power Guard and Sentry Monitor circuitry to protect against clipping and output stage damage. Up front, the amplifier’s illuminated blue watt meters — a McIntosh hallmark since the 1950s — sit behind a black glass panel with silver end caps, making it as striking to look at as it is to listen to.
